At a recent 50th birthday lunch party the subject of the Bucket List came up.
The Bucket List was a film starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, who met as terminally ill patients, helped each other achieve a list of things list of things they wanted to do before they ‘kicked the bucket’
It provoked a lively discussion . I was surprised to hear that my husband had a parachute jump on his own bucket list ( he had never mentioned that before). Most of the women present seemed to have places to visit on their lists (mine was Sydney), while the men’s lists for the most part was more activity based – involving Helicopters, Harley-Davidsons and mountains!
There was one person, however, who categorically stated that a ‘bucket list’ was something that she would never contemplate. Her view was if you had a list, what were you supposed to do when you got to the end of it? An interesting point.
So, do you have a Bucket List? And if so, what’s on yours?

My bucket list definitely includes i) being on Strictly and ii) learning to sail!
I am a huge Strictly fan! As I am flat footed with knock knees it might a bit of a challenge to hold the glitter ball! I have just started ‘ballroom breakout’ classes with Ian Waite – they are great fun
No, I don’t have a bucket list. But then I do have arthritis and know that one little fall could mean fractures and all that sort of incapacity so I’m busy doing everything I want without looking too far ahead.
It would be terrible to look back and say, ‘I wish I had…’ – I’d rather say something along the lines of, ‘I did the very best I could, had the most fun, loved the best people, went to the best places …’
(Which is not to say I’m not planning another trip!)
