At 61 Lulu looks great, and in her book she shares with us many of the ‘secrets’ for looking good that she has picked up from the professionals she has worked with along the way.
Simple, down to earth tips for looking good and turning back the years!
In addition to hair and make up tips, Lulu takes us through her diet and exercise regime, wardrobe rules and how she maintains her positive outlook on life!
What I like about her book is that it is based on simple down to earth tips than can be easily followed, from depuffing eyes with slices of chilled cucumber to removing one accessory before leaving the house to go from ‘bling’ to elegance in one simple ‘less is more’ move.
Lulu emphasises how just standing up straight can instantly help us to look 5 lbs slimmer and I am pleased to say that she shares my passion for belts for ‘zhooshing’ up an outfit you’ve had for years (I am pleased I have learnt to do at least one thing right on my own!)
How to avoid looking like ‘mutton dressed as lamb’
Her wardrobe rules advise on how to look ‘current’ without carrying the ‘mutton dressed as lamb’ label- from skirt length to wardrobe staples and colour cues – there’s lots of helpful info.
The exercise section has some very clear instructions and pictures, and the photo of how much better Lulu looks now in her bikini than when she was younger is sufficient motivation to at least give the exercises a try.
I was lucky that my copy arrived just as I was about to leave for the hairdresser. I had been debating whether or not to have a fringe and I have to say that the cover shot of Lulu with hers helped me to ‘go for it’. I have also followed her ‘lip tips’ for creating a plumper looking mouth. In the last 2 weeks I have been asked ‘what work’ have I had on my face!
All I can say is ‘thank you’ to Lulu for sharing her ‘Secrets to Looking Good!’
