What can we do to rejuvenate the overall appearance and condition of our skin in our 50s and beyond? We recently covered how to improve decolletage and hands where skin has become crepey, by using a non surgical aesthetic treatment. This therapy can also be used in the same way to revitalise and restore the smoothness of the skin of the face in midlife.

The Restylane Vital treatment
Hyaluronic acid is natural substance present in the skin which bonds with water molecules to retain moisture and plumpness. A good example of this is Babies’ skin which is full of hyaluronic acid which gives those wonderful round cheeks. But with age the the hyaluronic acid in the skin skin becomes more and more depleted and its overall quality is not as good.
The Restylane Vital treatment involves a series of microinjections of pure hyaluronic acid gel, which closely resembles the natural hyaluronic acid in your own skin. The treatment is not painful as it follows the application of an anaesthetic cream for at least 30 minutes beforehand.
To achieve the maximum results the treatment needs to be carried three times 2 to 3 weeks apart. The results start to show immediately but significant improvement occurs up to 6 weeks after the course has finished.
The cost for a course of three treatments of Restylane Vital® starts from around £550 per area treated (face, hands or décolletage). The benefits last for around six to nine months and you can maintain your glowing skin with a single annual top-up treatment.
