Many moons ago I read the most glorious post and followed up with one of my own in which I explored the concept of reversing the adage of kissing the frog which turns into a prince.
I was grateful to a friend earlier this week for pointing me in the direction of a Daily Mail article which reported on a study suggesting that women will kiss 22 men, be in 4 relationships and have 5 broken hearts before they find Mr Right. I’m no mathematician but if you’ve had 4 relationships, who provided the 5th broken heart – perhaps your teddy bear, primary school teacher or pop idol?
My belief is that, we kiss many princes/esses who turn into frogs!
Each person in their own right is a Prince or Princess
How does that work you might wonder? Well, it’s kind of like this …. everybody you kiss is special in some way, you’ve been drawn to them, attracted even. (I know that for some beer glasses and wine vision can get in the way of discernment, but leave that aside just now!) Each person in their own right is a Prince or Princess.
What that means is that you are the person responsible for turning them into a frog!! And you turn them into a frog in your mind with a shake of your magic wand or head. The person hasn’t changed at all, their Prince or Princess status remains with the individual once you have decided that they’re not for you. The next person your ‘frog’ meets will believe that they are a Prince or Princess until they start to see the frog in them. And the same goes for you too – you become a frog to someone.
Spotting the Frog Spawn
If you want to keep your Prince or Princess alive and kicking, then it’s up to you to do something about it. Recognise that the person in front of you is perfectly royal already and treat them with respect and honour. Be willing to find out more about the Prince/cess before you turn them into a frog ….
Frogs have a fantastic ability to hop off, without a backward glance, remember to let them go before you do them harm.
Better still …. take a look at your relating skills, by working with me for just a few sessions, together we could change the statistics of the report and you might find your frog quota going down
Note: we have a new ‘Fabafterfifty group’ called Dating Divas – How Many Frogs? where you can share your dating dilemmas with other readers as you search for your prince
