Our stress guru continues her countdown to a stress free 2012.
Tuesday 27th December: Relax. Go for a walk. If you are feeling lonely, make a phone call to a friend or someone you don’t know [such as the Samaritans who are on call 24 hours a day]. Use your time effectively so that your body can recharge its battery. How about going through your pictures from last year and putting them into order on your computer and make sure they are all backed up!
Wednesday 28th December: If you are not at work, think of that book that needs writing. Get started on the outline and then the rest will follow. The worst thing is to die with that book inside you! What a waste and now is the time to get started and start putting some of your thoughts down on paper. Don’t forget, it needs a beginning, a middle and an end! Get planning today.
Thursday 29th December: If you are working, it will probably be quiet at the office so use your time effectively. Enjoy the fact that your inbox will likely be clear. Use your time to do some housework on your computer. Clear out old files and emails. Defragging your hard disc will make your machine faster. Don’t forget to renew your virus checker! Is your desktop cluttered? Go through it and see what you can send to the rubbish bin! What a lovely feeling…
Friday 30th December: If you are working, walk around the office and see what needs to be done in January. Maybe a coat of paint would be useful in the reception area where clients come into the office. Enjoy the peace and quiet. When no-one is around and it is not busy, one can see things through different eyes. How about clearing out the filing cabinet. A paperless office – probably not!
