Actress Debbie Arnold has had a successful career as an actress in TV, film and theatre, and has appeared in all of the major TV soaps in her 30 year career. But although having appeared to live a charmed life, Debbie herself has had periods where she has lost sight of her own direction in life, and has fallen into depression and despair. She hit the ‘bottom of the barrell’ and had to find her own way out of a life which had left her feeling negative, unloved and defeated.
Following an unsuccessful audition, Debbie was at an all time low, carrying much anger and angst. A friend loaned her a DVD ‘You can Heal Your Life’ by Louise Hay. Something at that point ‘clicked’ with Debbie, and she realised she had been carrying a backpack of negativity with her for far too long. It was time to put it to one side. Debbie changed the way she thought about herself and her life. She became happy. Her life turned around.
Reinvention and Inspiration
Having reinvented her own life, Debbie has set out to help others reinvent their lives too. Debbie has become an inspirational speaker, and set up Reinvention and Inspiration groups, where like minded people get together to inspire each other – I have been a guest at the London group- the evening was most definitely inspiring and I will be going back! With groups now meeting as far afield as Edinburgh and Marbella, Debbie has written about her own reinvention story, with her A-Z guide to success ‘The Power of Reinvention’. Debbie believes that life is for living, not surviving, and so she has created her own self help guide to finding a happy, fulfilling life. “ we have to reinvent ourselves to be the person we want to become”.
What is great about the book is that you can just dip in and out, picking a letter to suit your mood. Of course, I had to choose ‘F’ for Fabafterfifty first! ‘F’ in Debbie’s book focuses on the words Follow, Faith, Fantastic and Free.
An inspirational book written by a lovely inspirational lady.
Debbie is joining Fabafterfifty as a regular contributor – I’m sure we can all learn from the wisdom she shares from her own reinvention journey.
So who do you want to be?
