Review by Ceri Wheeldon Vitamin C has been used throughout history by women looking to lighten their skin – I can remember my grandmother being adamant that pressing half a lemon on the backs of her hands would diminish her age spots. Not too sure that quite worked, but it seems vitamin C is clinically proven to have skin brightening properties, and when applied topically in the right way can improve skin tone.
