    happy new year
Article by Caroline Carr It’s so easy to start the New Year with a pile of good intentions – after all, it’s a time of rebirth and renewing. It’s even easier to let those fine resolutions drift away, as the weeks and months go by and ‘life’ gets in the way. But you know, the intent was there, and surely that’s what really counts. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions, but I think you have to start somewhere. The most important thing is to set the intent, and to imagine yourself sticking to what you have decided. Article by Fabafterfifty A third of British mums don’t enjoy Christmas if they go to their children’s house for the day, it was revealed yesterday. The findings emerged in a study of 739 mothers with grown-up children, and shows that many would prefer to host the big day themselves, believing they could do a better job. Fourteen per cent of mums were fed up with twiddling their thumbs all day long and the same percentage were annoyed that they weren’t allowed to help out in the kitchen. One in 10 even said the food simply wasn’t up to scratch, and definitely did not meet their own personal standards.
