Hi Ceri, Sue here; What a great site, love the articals you cover. You have inspired me to start a ladies fifty plus dining and social club in my home town. I’m divorsed you see 7 years now. I’m happy with my live and have retrained after a op on my spine. I work as an administration assistant, working for the NHS. I truely love my new job and have lots of confidence to get out and make a diffrence and meet new friends. The club I want to start is a ladies dining and theatre trip club, meeting once a month in Stafford. Ladies can make new friends hold pool dinner parties, meet friends to be gym buddies or we can start walking clubs for weekend, book clubs etc. I started the club because most of my friends are married and I don’t get to see alot of them only a quick coffee now and then. I have found that in my home town there isn’t many fifty plus clubs for women doing activities during the evenings, plenty during the day if you are retired. My club is open to all ladies fifty plus with the view of car sharing as we dine out or go to a theatre, Single ladies can make friends too, take a holiday with friends or start a walker’s club, walking and stopping for a pub lunch and meeting either on a saturday or sunday once a month. Members can also organize outing in the weekday evening or for weekends. I have yet to find a venue but we have a lovely town centre hotel and I’m hoping to require a room for monthly meeting. Would love to here your views and tips from anyone esle who as started a club like mine. Best Wishes Sue Jeffrey.
