Review by Ceri Wheeldon I always like to share my beauty finds that work, I tend to try products at home rather than book regular facials at a salon. As we get older our skin’s ability to renew itself slows down. Dull looking skin can have the effect of making us look tired. So how can we achieve skin that has a healthy glow, especially over 50? Despite wearing sun screen my skin had taken a bit of a battering during a visit to Brittany, where lots of healthy long walks had also exposed me to all elements (except snow!) I needed positive action. I regularly exfoliate my skin, but do find some exfoliaters have a tendency to leave my skin feeling a little red and even dry. Enter Lulu’s Time Bomb Blast to the Past dermabrasion product to the rescue. I applied a small amount to damp skin and...

Article by Ceri Wheeldon This is a question we get asked a lot. How easy is it to address darker pigmentation marks which frequently appear as we age? One of our readers contacted me to say that she had been trying a new day cream, which she was convinced had made a difference in just 10 days. Pat has noticed dark pigmention patches appearing on her face – particularly on the area around her upper lip (which she was particularly self conscious about), which she believes is probably hormonal, as she experienced the...

anti-ageing face mask for women over 50 image
Review by Ceri Wheeldon Great facemask for days when you need a ‘lift’. I can honestly say that this is one of the best face masks I have tried in terms of visible results. After weeks if living in builders dust and a dose if flu, my skin was in desperate need of a ‘pick me up’. My 50plus skin was feeling and looking a little neglected! With a family party to go to later that day, I decided to lock myself away and apply a Vita Bella facemask. With what looks like a large steradent tablet and a vial of oil, the instructions said to pour the liquid onto the tablet and let the tablet fully absorb the liquid. One absorbed, you then unfold the mask it creates and apply the mask to the face and leave for 10 minutes. Facemask helped skin feel firmer As soon as the...
