Can shapewear help you to lose weight? Objective One Size Down Reader Giveaway

hip reducing shapewear imageArticle by Fabafterfifty

Playtex’s new slimming and anti-cellulite shapewear doesn’t claim to shed pounds but it does claim to help shed inches off your hips and thighs –

Playtex has launched an innovative new generation of active shapewear which is clinically proven to provide effortless slimming and anti-cellulite effect day after day as well as an immediate shaping effect. •

  •  The ceramic crystals within the fabric stimulate a continuous massage effect on the body, improving blood microcirculation and facilitating the removal of toxins
  • They offer an immediate shaping effect
  • They are wearable everyday all day long and invisible under clothes with the added bonus of comfort
  •  Offer a slimming and anti-cellulite effect day after day, with no effort
  • A natural solution: no ingredients absorbed by the skin
  •  The ceramic crystals are part of the DNA of the fabric, this means you can wear and wash the garment without compromising its effect

how does objective one size down work image?Does it work? Do you lose inches?

I have only just started the 28 day trial. All I can say so far is that Objective One Size Down is  far more comfortable to wear than normal shapewear – it might be my imagination but as it seems to create a ‘cooling’ sensation on the skin – perhaps it’s because of improved circulation.  I called to ask Playtex who had no specific explanation for this particular comment.

Reader Giveaway

They did however ask if 5 Fabafterfifty readers would like to try the new Objective One Size Down Shapewear.

If you add your comments below saying why you have an objective of ‘One Size Down’ we will select 5 readers who comment (at random) to receive a sample of  Objective  One Size Down shapewear.

Closing Date is April 12th 2012

For logistical purposes we have to limit entries to UK residents only.

Happy Commenting!

The Objective 1 Size Down Innovation is available from March at selected Debenhams stores and all good lingerie stockists The range comes in Waistliner (£32.00), Long Leg (£35.00) and High Waist Long Leg (£38.00)

Despite not being overweight and taking regular exercise and eating healthily, my problem area is my tummy, hips and thighs. I think this is probably due to having been through five pregnancies. No matter how many abdominal exercises you do, it cannot help with over stretched muscles. I would love to try something that would help streamline my silhouette so that I can wear the tight dresses I like, without having to hold in my breath all the time!

Ceri – my goal for this year, my 50th year, is to regain my shape and fitness level lost over the past 5 years sitting in front of a computer!
So far it entails lots of green leafy salads and lots of gym work then a weigh-in session every two weeks with my personal coach.
I love the idea of having a secret aid to reaching my goal, something that my coach will know nothing about.

Having played tennis for 30 years and then giving it up for golf – my thighs, tum and bum have
become huge, lumpy and bumpy (clearly golf isn’t enough of an exercise for me). So in January I started swimming
and running both 3-4 times a week. Can’t say I particularly enjoy doing it, but feel good afterwards. Anyway, I notice
no difference in the problem areas whatsoever. I am also sticking to a very healthy well balanced eating routine. It would be great to try out something that you would hope would work!!

Ceri, My objective for this year is to keep fit & healthy! I am 57 years young and will not give in to old age, so my goal is to keep going with the fitness regime, I am not too overweight…. but feel I could do with some help after going through the menopause, I am determined to prove that you can still maintain a healthy and trim body after the menopause. I intend to keep my shape!

I long to be ‘fabafterfifty’ but I think I may have left it too late! Can one be ‘fabaftersixty’? I would love to be one size down, back to the size I always was. I have considered shapewear but thought it would be too uncomfortable. It also reminded me of the ‘panty-girdles’ we all wore when I was a teenager and were so glad to ditch when they wentout of fashion! Perhaps the Playtex garments you are trying would be the answer.

Definitely the tummy area for me. I have considered shapewear. Trinny and Susanna were keen weren’t they as the magical solution? But comfort is an important consideration since after a while, all you can think about is the discomfort from a restrictive garment. I am slightly sceptical of the beneficial effects of the crystals but if the garment is comfortable then what is there to lose?

I try to cycle and walk whenever I can leaving the car firmly in the drive.

One size down would be fab – for me around the thighs; I’m a classic pear shape! Had a tough year last year and gained weight after injuries (physical and emotional). Gradually getting back on track, but told to avoid more than the gentlest exercise for now, would LOVE one of these!

One size down would be great to boost my confidence which needs it as i am still looking for my next role in finance after looking for 3 years. Slipping in to a smart pencil skirt and shirt may just be the right thing for me. I am curvy at 54 but need to keep it all together .
Help me crack the job market with super curves!

I’ve adjusted my eating habits and am probably now a sensible weight, but I’m far from ‘in shape’. Confidence took a nose dive after illness and disability, and it’s difficult looking smart and glam when you can’t walk properly, but I really want to get back to looking as good as possible, and looking in great shape is a really good starting point. I’d love to see if shapewear can bring back my pre-50 year old body. 😀

My hips and thighs have been a problem ever since I was 11 and I’ve had to endure the polite, “You’re a big girl, aren’t you?” to the less polite, “Thunder thighs” all my life. I’d love to try and shape down before my son’s graduation in the summer and these would give me the focus I need to walk a little more and sit a little less.

I am still to discover the ultimate tum shaper. I have them in so many styles from different companies and none of them have been comfortable or effective enough to wear.
I had decided not to buy anymore and given up, but maybe playtex might help me change my mind?

No matter what I do, the extra skin and sagging abdominal muscles will not go away – had a ‘no morning sickness’ triplet pregnancy! Am not going to have plastic surgery for it, have seen enough operating rooms and hospitals between the pregnancy and the fertility treatment to last me a lifetime!
I have tried other shape wear, but always rolls down and looks awful so have to rush into ladies to pull them back up and am never relaxed. Might playtex be the exception?

I’m now nearer 60 than 50, and after a knee injury have been inactive (for the first time in my life) for months…. and the pounds 9and the flab) seem to be piling on. “One size down” would boost my confidence immeasurably and give me a boost to slowly get active again

I have a very physical job & I work hard to try & stay in shape…I’d really appreciate some help from shape wear that works as hard as I do! 😉

I have been a mom for over 35 years, raising 3 wonderful kids. At 57, I have time to join a health club. Even with eating healthy and exercise, I still had stubborn fat in my belly, hips and legs. But, I lost 4 inches in the waist, 2 inches in the legs and lifted my butt. I am so excited with the results, it was easy with an at home procedure you can by online. It’s a fat freezing product! You can freeze the fat in these problem areas. Can you believe it, nature always has the answer if we look. Check it out at http://www.asraistouch.com. Pretty neat, I glad, I tried it.
