But when it comes to planning your second honeymoon do you choose a city break or a beach holiday? Be Charmed by Marrakech
A walk through Marrakech quickly awakens your senses. The distinctive Moroccan scents of ginger and paprika pass through the city, originating from the stalls in the busy Jemaa El Fna square. Here you will be enchanted by snake charmers, acrobats and belly dancers as they vie for the attention of passers-by. Enjoy a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice at one of the romantic rooftop restaurants, or stay for a traditional Moroccan dish.
A short walk from Jemaa El Fna and you will find the famous souks of Marrakech, a must-see in this vibrant city. Away from the main market streets you will discover authentic souks where you can put your haggling skills to the test as you barter the price of a traditional Moroccan carpet or lantern.
Escape the crowds of the medina for a quiet moment together at one of the many tranquil gardens. Marrakech was once known as the ‘Garden City’, owing to the huge gardens dotted around the city. The Jardin Majorelle was created by artist Jacques Majorelle and later taken over by designer Yves Saint Laurent, the bright blue buildings and towering cacti creates an oasis-like escape.
Don’t miss – Find a quiet spot on a roof-top terrace around the Jemaa El Fna and take in the stunning views across Marrakech with a refreshing drink.

A Beach Holiday with a Twist
Life in Agadir revolves around its golden beaches. Promenades lined with palm trees stretch the length of the bay, creating a haven for beach lovers. This purpose built resort is a popular choice for those in search of a beach holiday with a twist.
The sandy Agadir beach is dotted with sun loungers and parasols, and the nearby restaurants and cafes are perfect for lazy days. Couples will enjoy the quiet beaches and quaint alfresco cafes. Taghazout beach in the north of Agadir stretches for 8km. Its impressive waves have made it a favourite with surfers, who travel from all over the world to experience the Moroccan surf.
Beyond the sandy shores and beach-front hotels there’s plenty to be seen. The Souk Al Had is a traditional market, similar to those found in Marrakech, where visitors can pick up traditional jewellery, handbags and Moroccan spices and oils. Off the Avenue Hassan, you’ll find the Musée Municipal du Patrimoine Amazigh, which celebrates the Berber tribe’s culture and heritage.

May be good for second honeymoon but wouldn’t recommend for women visiting unaccompanied by male. My two single girlfriends said the pestering from local men & even waiters crossed the line of acceptable behaviour & wouldn’t be making a return visit.
