I am always looking for products that can tame my hair- which being incredibly curly, has a mind of its own- and has a tendency towards being dry – especially at the ends. I have noticed taht my hair has become drier and coarser in my 50s.
I was thrilled to come across Ogario London’s Restore and Shine Hair Masque which I shall now think of as my ‘rescue remedy’ on bad hair days.
My hair was particularly lacklustre following a flu bug and needed more help than my everyday conditioners could offer.
The masque itself has a lovely citrus smell and a rich, creamy consistency. The instructions indicate that you apply after shampooing and concentrate on the ends. You leave on for ten minutes ( just about the right amount of time to apply a face mask or exfoliating treatment if you want to use the time for pampering!) . I have to say that I was a bit concerned when I first used it as when I rinsed the masque off, my hair still felt a little ‘coarse’ , but as soon as I started to blow dry my hair I was amazed at the improved texture and added shine. My hair was easier to manage and the ends definitely appeared to be thicker. Overall my hair had more body and bounce – it felt like hair for the first time in weeks.
Hint: I have since checked Ogario’s own website and interestingly their instructions online suggest that you apply your normal conditioner after rinsing .
What are the active ingredients in Ogario London’s hair masque?
Sage for softening the hair and working in perfect harmony with the healing benefits of lavender. The masque contains avocado oil, which is loaded with natural fats that are great for the hair and scalp. Vitamins A, D and E help to protect and strengthen hair, restoring health and shine.
OgarioLondon hair masque is not one of the cheapest on the market, but a little seems to go a long way. I have now used on three occasions and it has hardly made a dent in the jar.
Oh, and for those who like to support UK industry the box says it is made in the UK in an eco-friendly factory.
Price: £26.50 for a 200ml pot.
