Give Me Strength- A Prayer For Calm and Inner Peace

Dear gentle reader, group hug and blessings. Today’s Monday Morning Moment of Calm is a short prayer, Give Me Strength, which you can say anytime during the day, to keep your energy and spirits up; especially if you feel yourself slipping in a negative and fear-driven mood. It is ideal to say when you first wake up in the morning and mentally prepares you to set your intention for a peaceful and positive day.

Give Me Strength

“… Divine Mother, As I wake to greet a new day, I pray for peace, for a calm gentle heart and to be the best I am

As I  prepare to  make my breakfast, may I eat foods which nourish, sustain and help restore my inner balance and calm

As I enter the world of work, may my thoughts and connection with the divine remain strong and guide me as I negotiate the demands of the world with my desire for peace, spiritual growth and letting go—letting go of the need to be right and in control, letting go of the ego which says my way is the best way and letting go of my need to let-go.

And as I retire and seek solace in the wisdom of the night, may my heart remain pure, as I give thanks and gratitude for being the witness of a brand new day”.

Further Thoughts

Although short, we encourage you to find time when you wake up or out and about during your day, to take a few moments to breathe and gently whisper the prayer “Give Me Strength” to yourself. And as you do so, remember how graceful and beautiful you are and let your desire for calm and inner peace be your guide.
