Christmas Reflections, Remember to Smile

Good morning dear friends and welcome to today’s Moment of Calm post. It is a short post and a simple message to remind you to Smile, Breathe and Be

Like most of you, there have been times in my life, when I’ve beaten myself up for things I’ve said or done; words which leave a cold tear in loved ones hearts and actions which left friends stunned and hurt. Like most of you I’ve spent far too many years worrying and wishing things could be different, and the unkind words erased and replaced with warmth and hugs. However, as you know, you can’t bring back the past, all you can do is to breathe, make amends and forgive.

Find It In Your Heart To Smile And Forgive

Forgiveness is at the heart of this festive season, and even if you do not celebrate Christmas, believe in Father Christmas or resonate with the Christian religion, there is something about this time of the year which makes you pause, ponder and reflect about life, friends and friendships.  Amidst the commercial hype and glam and glitter of office parties and “forced attendance” at family gatherings and indulgent behaviour, there is something about Christmas which makes you want to be a “better person” and shift heaven and earth to bring a little light and sunshine to someone’s life.

So, in the spirit of peace and everlasting forgiveness for self and others, today my Christmas message to you is to Smile. And here are a few words to share to remind and encourage you of the beauty and magic of you.

Remember To Smile

Smile at yourself whenever you pass your reflection

Smile at your neighbour and the stranger you pass in the street

Smile at the municipal workers who silently keep your city and town clean

And most of smile at every child you see and send them a cheery wave and wish for a happy, healthy, fun and safe Christmas Time.
