Bless you dear friends and welcome to today’s Moment of Calm post, which is a Morning Prayer for A Happiness.

Prayer forms the cornerstone of my daily spiritual practice and helps me to keep the faith and be strong in adversity. Today’s post is a prayer I wrote this morning for you, to help you start your day with a happy and grateful heart.

Get Ready For Your Morning Prayer

How do you wake up in the morning? Are you like most people,  you grab your phone, check your email and social media updates, roll over and sneak an extra few minutes in bed?

If this is your usual start to your day, for a change just try waking up and saying a quiet prayer to yourself. You don’t have to be religious or on a particular spiritual path to pray. All you need is a desire to start your day in a positive and purposeful way, in a way that connects you to your higher self and reminds you to be grateful for what you have. Even if life isnt flowing the way you want, a few moments in prayer can ease the pressure you feel and create space in your early morning thoughts to breathe.

So, I invite you, to take a few minutes when you wake up, to sit up, lengthen your spine, smile and then quietly say this short prayer to yourself.  You can even say the prayer sitting on the tube or in-between meetings whilst waiting for your friends to arrive. Wherever you are you can say this prayer:) It will help ground your energy and remind you to be grateful for everything in your life.

Morning Prayer For Happiness

May I be willing to listen.

May I be gentle, loving, assertive and kind.

May I treat myself well.

May I be kind in speech, inspired to see life through another’s point of view.

To give others space to breathe and see life through their eyes.

May I transcend my fears, see beauty in the homeless and those living life different from mine.

May I give from my heart, and give without expecting return, safe in the knowledge that all is as it should be.

May I always shine with divine insight, stay close to the spirit of the wind and allow my life to unfold according to thy divine will.

Closing Thoughts

Once you have said this prayer, take a few more moments to sit in silence, maybe say the prayer again and reflect upon what you read, what the words mean to you and how the passage makes you feel; then smile softly to yourself, and when ready stretch your arms above your head and get ready to enjoy the rest of your day.
