5 dynamic wishes for my 50+ woman’s life

Woman with her dogArticle by Sharon Eden

Do you ever think about what you want from life as a 50+ woman?  When I Googled the question, the majority of first page responses were about clothes and fashion for the older woman, vitamin promotions, products for a dry vagina and a warning from the Daily Mail that 50 is a dangerous age for women.  Oh pleeeeez!

So, here are 5 dynamic wishes for my 50+ woman’s life…

#1  To be even more me!

At 66, I sometimes feel I’ve been there, seen that, done that and got the T-shirt.  Apart from me.  I’m always evolving…  and so are you!

Research suggests that older women are more assertive, more willing to speak out and far less suppressed by early life conditioning.  Delicious!  And, if that’s not you but how you’d like to be, drop me a line.

#2  To be as sexy as hell!

Who’s got a headache?  Not me!  And, research suggests loads of 50+ women enjoy sexual relationships.  It’s adult play time, women.

But sexy goes way beyond sex.  It means passionate, resonating with aliveness and curious.  Doesn’t mean you don’t have down times but you include them in.  Want to know more?  Check out my Sophia Loren post.

#3  To love and be loved!

Yesterday I posted photos of my gorgeous, grown up children on Facebook.  An expression of my love for them. And, while the love between my family, friends and I is priceless, there’s even more to it.

Imagine buying some bread.  The moment of contact comes from your open heart and they respond in kind.  Yum!

Love is truly all around.  There are loads of opportunities every day to love and be loved by people, animals and the divine… whatever you believe the divine to be.  Take them!

#4  To have adventures!

Exploration holidays can be great adventures.  Then there are every day adventures which you didn’t even know were going to happen.

Ever gone somewhere with a specific purpose and, suddenly, you discovered something else which delighted you?  Ever met someone by chance and had a gorgeous encounter?

Plus, please remember learning new things either by plan or accident is always an adventure!

#5  To be open to the unknown!

We’re creatures of habit and like to stick to what’s familiar.  Even the thought of change can be scary.  But change is also part of life.  Just think of aging… disgracefully, I hope!

When a great opportunity arises you’re likely to feel scared.  Good!  Feeling scared means you’re challenging yourself to grow, learn more and be even more you than you were before.  Remember…  The only things worth doing are those which scare you!

And the next 50 years?

Current thinking is that far more of us will live until 100 or beyond.  These 5 dynamic wishes are a recipe to have my long life be an active and healthy one.
