So, you’ve decided that you’ve finally got a free weekend and you fully intend to make the most of it. No leftover work from the office to take home, no DIY jobs around the house that need doing; the perfect opportunity to have a day out with a friend, family member or other half.
You might have the time set aside, but then there’s the issue of actually figuring out what activity to do. That’s where the Daytrip Decider comes in. This handy little tool from Cotton Traders takes the weight off your mind and comes up with a suggestion of where you should head off to for the day.
How it works
To help the Daytrip Decider pick something you’ll actually want to do, it needs a bit of info from yours truly. You’re able to pick which region you’re based in or want to travel to for the day and then even narrow it down by the nearest town or city.
Once you’ve handed over that information, the Daytrip Decider will ask you whether you’re looking for an active activity like rambling in the Peak District, or something a little steadier such as a stroll along the promenade at Llandudno. You can also tell it whether you’d like to do an indoors or outdoors activity, largely dependent on the weather!
A trial run
Ok, so let’s a have a look at what the Daytrip Decider advises for a day out in London. If you’re wanting a steady and indoor experience, how about a trip to Battersea Arts Centre? As an alternative to the West End, it’s a great but quieter place to take in a show. If that doesn’t float your boat, how about an active and outdoorsy activity in and around Llandudno near Snowdonia?
The Daytrip Decider suggests a visit Tree Top Adventure, a tree climbing and high rope course based nearby in Conwy. Another option would be scaling Great Orme in Llandudno (or cheat and take the tram to the top), where you’ll find a café, crazy golf, an artificial sky slope and a toboggan run!
