As part of my mission to get fit over 50, I have recently started walking every day – weather permitting. I’m not a jogger or runner but really enjoy my 45 minutes out in the fresh air. I also use that time to listen to music or podcasts, but found the earphones that came with my phone little frustrating – they kept falling out of one or both ears as I moved. So perhaps the best way to listen to your music during fitness exercises is through wireless headphones. In my case I chose Denon in ear headphones which are sold by Argos ” hoping that they would not only offer better quality of sound – but also stay put in my ears as the fit works along the lines of a hearing aid hooking behind the ear , while the front earpiece is adjustable. I am always worried about still being aware of traffic and events around me while on my walk – you can in fact angle the earpieces so you can listen to music and still have external noise such as traffic in the background if you don’t want to block out background noise completely..
All the controls for volume and accepting calls are on the earpiece itself, the music is muted when the call is taken.
The sound quality is good, and of course just as effective when paired with my ipad or laptop when working from home – I can go and make myself a coffee without the aggravation of taking headphones on or off – or accidentally pulling my laptop along with me!
I do have to say though that although I really like the headphones I didn’t find them easy to work out how to set up. I’m not great with technology and for me these gadgets are never intuitive and so I have to rely on instructions – which came in so many languages and with very small images – an area for improvement.
None the less – I am now happy with my daily walk – listening to my music and the traffic!
