This anti-ageing treatment Silhouette Soft otherwise known as the Lunch Time Face Lift has the ability to ‘lift’ facial features. It has been featured in the press recently with East Enders Actress Gillian Taylforth singing its praises. I asked cosmetic doctor Dr Aamer Khan and anti-ageing specialist Lesley Reynolds to explain the procedure in more detail as part of our expert interview series in conjunction with the Anti-Ageing Show (see below for reader ticket offer)
What is a Silhouette Soft Face Lift?
A minimally invasive treatment using dissolvable sutures to give a lift. Effective for jowls, cheeks, brow and chin/neck. Not only does the treatment help give the effects of a face lift, but as the sutures dissolve they stimulate collagen to help with skin quality.
Is it the same as a ThreadLift? If not how does it differ?
It is similar, but Silhouette soft sutures do two jobs, lift and help with collagen stimulation
What exactly is involved.
Silhouette soft sutures are injected into the deeper layers of the skin and then pulled gently to lift the tissues. There are tiny needle points and can be some bruising and swelling for about 3-5 days.
What is Silhouette Soft?
The Polylactic Acid is used to create the threads, and has been used in surgical procedures for around 40 years.

How safe is it?
Over 87,000 procedures have been performed throughout the world over the last three years and Silhouette Soft have been available to doctors since 2012
Silhouette Lift, on which the product was based was introduced in 2006.

What effect does the treatment have?
The treatment lifts the tissue and stimulates collagen to restore a younger firmer look.
What areas of the face is it particularly effective on?
Jowls, cheeks, brows and chin area.
Does it hurt?
It is uncomfortable, as are all injectables, however, we use a local anaesthetic to help to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.
How long does the actual treatment take?
Around 30 minutes
Are the results immediate?
The results are immediate and get better as the settle.
How long does it last?
Eighteen months to two years.
Is it suitable for everyone?
Most people aged 35-65 are suitable, but you would of course need a consultation to be accessed.
Is it reversible if you don’t like the results?
Up to a week it can be loosened
Would you use it alongside treatments such as Botox and Fillers or instead of?
Yes, its a very versitile treatment.
Will you look ‘done’ after the treatment ie Hollywood wind tunnel look!
