Article by Dr Jules Nabet
The first of a 3 part series with renowned French Cosmetic Doctor Dr Jules Nabet where we ask how Botox and Fillers can help rejuvenate your skin.
Well the first thing to say is that Botox is best used for the top half of the face, such as around the eyes and on the forehead and fillers are best used for the bottom half of the face such as for nose to mouth lines, fine line around the mouth as well as the lips
Botox is also very good for around the eyes and especially crow’s feet. I inject the facial muscles with Botox slightly differently for each person, as each face is different, four to eight pricks high on the forehead and around the eyes 1cm away, for example. By relaxing these muscles with Botox it will help open up your eyes so they look more youthful, whilst still keeping expression. Botox also really helps to lift heavy eyelids and can help raise the eyebrow. The priority for all my patients is to look natural, they want their lines and wrinkles softened but they still want movement in their face.
Botox is used to banish frown lines and crow’s feet as a preventative (the sooner you start the less you will need as you age) and corrective treatment. I have clients even younger than that come for me for tension headaches and migraines as Botox is very good at relieving these. Many of my clients love the result and come back religious every 3 to 4 months, but you can leave it longer than this and just have it every 6 months or annually.
At what age should you start having Botox?
35 is the average age of your female clientele for Botox in the UK but in France it is 45. People don’t really think about Botox in their 20s but certainly when they hit 30 and also in their 40s is the time I get most people thinking about starting with Botox
I actually pioneered “baby Botox,” a lower dosage, which means that the patients’ face can actually move afterwards. Dr Jules Nabet s known for ‘pretty’ natural Botox, but also administers Botox in the dimple of the chin as well as the lower half of the face to sculpt and tone the neck and lower jaw.
