  1. How to know your worth and attract good stuff!

    Comment
Article by Sharon Eden Women are renowned for undervaluing and underselling themselves. And 50+ women are no exception. However, a woman standing in her own power is an inspirational and highly influential force. So… some ideas on how to showcase yourself as the magnificent woman you really are. Never blow your own trumpet? I’m working with a business building specialist. Recently, she asked me how people knew a certain high profile person was an expert. She gently dismissed my answers revealing the only reason they’re seen as an expert is because they tell everyone they are! And she’s right… How can you expect other people to value you when you don’t talk about how great you are? I know it goes against what you were taught. But, hey, it’s...
  2. 5 Simple Tips to Beat the Monday Morning Blues All Week!

    Comment
Article by Sharon Eden The Monday morning blues start with the Sunday evening dreads. “Oh no – it’s work tomorrow!” But the Monday morning blues can happen any day of the week… apart from the fabulous TGIF, of course! As a 50+ woman you have so much on your hands. The last thing you need is for work to be the bain of your life. And it doesn’t have to. Here are 5 simple tips to beat those old ‘blues’… 1.Spring out of bed like a thing possessed… Then jump up and down very energetically 10 times, followed by 10 energetic starfish jumps (arms and legs out to make your body a star fish shape). Remember to do a plain jump in between to get you back to...
  3. How to live life awake and willing…

    Comment
Article by Sharon Eden Life and wellbeing are not happy clappy. Forever smiling and bubbling can be a diversion from issues and/or feelings which need attention. In reality, life is a mixture of sublime, great, good, not so good, yuch! and downright awful. And one of the secrets of wellbeing is accepting the down times as well as the good times So, how do you do that then? You live life awake and willing… You learn to undo the going AWOL, numbing out, head-in-the-sand, the ‘ignoring’ we all learn to do in response to things we don’t like or believe we can’t handle. As the saying goes…   ‘Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.’ Vivian Greene   So, here’s a story…   Once upon a long, long time ago...
  4. Indulgence – A secret of the art of wellbeing?

    2
Article by Sharon Eden You know you’re getting on when old teeth fillings start falling away. Yet, it seems like only yesterday when I had those teeth filled! Anyhow, I took the opportunity today to replace 4 big back teeth metal fillings with white… well, off white… composite. 4 big old fillings drilled out and 4 big old new ones put in all at the same time!   The fillings   Having caught a mild bug, I wasn’t totally up to speed today. 40 minutes later, having had my mouth constantly wide open, drills echoing in my head and assorted tools, flotsam and jetsam inserted into my mouth, the ‘fillings’ project kind of finished me off.   Luckily, my car drove itself home without effort from me. What did I do then? I headed...
  5. What a phenomenal woman… just like you!

    Comment
Article by Sharon Eden A phenomenal woman died last week.  Maya Angelou, activist and poet.  She wrote about you, a woman, not idealised as in glossy magazines, or defined as wife, mother, lover, angel, whore… But womanly, standing in your own ground as WOMAN! An uncertain childhood, raped at 8 by her mother’s ‘friend’, she told her family and the man was killed (possibly by one of her uncles).  Five and a half years of being mute followed, for understandable reasons… She recalls it as, “I chose not to speak!” And that’s just for starters.  The woman led an awesome life as a warm, open and loving human being, despite trauma and abuse.  Now, whether you’ve experienced trauma and abuse or not, Maya speaks for you and me, 50+ women in all our...
  6. Who wants less stress and more deliciousness in life?

    2
Article by Sharon Eden Many 50+ women say they do, but we don’t really!  That’s because of 2 major fears… Who will I be without my stress? What will I do without my stress? Overcoming them is what leads to a more delicious life. Life stressors By the time you’re 50+ you’ve spent a lifetime full of stress.  Being who your parents, your teachers and your peers wanted you to be… or not.  More stress with exams, being the same as your peers or feeling an outcast, choices in education, job, career and dating.  The whole stress of being two instead of one which you either managed or didn’t. Securing a home, children or not, separation and divorce or not, moving, teenage kids and their stresses, coping with illness, operations, bereavements. affairs, taking care of...
  7. How to make your dream come true and reap the rewards!

    Comment
Article by Sharon Eden At 50+ you’re still a spring chicken and there’s a lot of living to be done.  So, why curb your dream?  Unless you want to be an astronaut or brain surgeon, there’s every chance of making it happen… Keep your dream alive Whether it’s for yourself or to help others, focus on your dream as soon as you wake up and before you go to sleep.  It gives purpose and momentum to your life. Write about it and have pictures/photos/objects which symbolise it.  These dream ‘reminders’ educate your brain to know what you’re after.  That develops ‘selective attention’; alertness for opportunities and for people who can help you create your dream. How can you keep your dream alive? Take action However big or small your dream, take action every day towards...
  8. 5 dynamic wishes for my 50+ woman’s life

    Comment
Article by Sharon Eden Do you ever think about what you want from life as a 50+ woman?  When I Googled the question, the majority of first page responses were about clothes and fashion for the older woman, vitamin promotions, products for a dry vagina and a warning from the Daily Mail that 50 is a dangerous age for women.  Oh pleeeeez! So, here are 5 dynamic wishes for my 50+ woman’s life… #1  To be even more me! At 66, I sometimes feel I’ve been there, seen that, done that and got the T-shirt.  Apart from me.  I’m always evolving…  and so are you! Research suggests that older women are more assertive, more willing to speak out and far less suppressed by early life conditioning.  Delicious!  And, if that’s not you but how...
  9. Bounce Back Tuesdays! Sophia…….

    3
Article by Sharon Eden Sophia Loren burst into my consciousness from a 1960’s television screen.  She was resplendent, passionate and indestructible.  She also had a sweet vulnerability which positively underpinned her strength. She oozed spirit and sexuality; 1000% life energy, purpose, passion and power.  She took everything the World War II movie threw at her and then bounced back for more. It was only in my 40s that I realised Sophia had saved me.  Despite my very dysfunctional earlier life as a woman, I came to understand she had unconsciously influenced me with the potential of the woman I could become. Simultaneously… no accident that!… I discovered the similarly delicious and ancient female energy called Sophia. Sophia is wisdom and the feminine aspect of the divine.  Whatever magnificent...
  10. How women can change the world with Passion

    1
Article by Sharon Eden – the Passion Whisperer When you think about women who changed the world with Passion, you might think of Emily Pankhurst, Florence Nightingale, Elizabeth Fry, Queen Elizabeth the First, Marie Cure, Margaret Thatcher…  Add the names of your favourite women in the comments below………………………………………………….. You and I tend to think first of those women who have made a big splash in history; who’ve been instrumental in creating a big change.  And you and I tend to forget or not even notice the millions of women who are changing the world with Passion in incremental ways… all the time! Women who change the world with Passion: The women who set up after-school clubs for latch-key kids. The women who refuse to repeat the abuse they suffered as children and...
