Hi – I’m new here, but already I have something to say in this forum, LOL!
I’m loving the recent news story that film producers have woken up to the fact that “oldies” tend to go to the cinema perhaps more than a lot of youngsters, so have started rolling out lots of “golden years” movies … this is good news for us!!
Hubby and I loved “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and are looking forward to seeing “Quartet” soon … but last weekend we went to see “Hyde Park on Hudson” which was very good entertainment indeed. Set just pre-WW2, it is based on the diary writings of President Roosevelt’s “5th cousin” Daisy, and includes the touching intimacies of their relationship, as well as a very funny portrayal of the visit by George VI and Queen Elizabeth (the queen mother) to try and secure America’s assistance in the impending war. Definitely recommended.
