Keeping up with the latest fashions is hard work and it’s easy to make a mistake in the fashion world due to its ever-changing nature. It’s not only women who can fall short in the fashion department, as many men can also make mistakes when it comes to what’s hot and what’s not.
Here are some of the biggest fashion mistakes made by men – according to women.
There’s nothing worse than seeing a man in a pair of short, tight shorts. According to 84% of women asked in a poll, one of the most common mistakes made by men – especially during the summer – is pulling on a pair of cycling shorts and going shopping or to the beach. Board shorts, chino shorts, surf shorts, sports shorts and jersey shorts are all fine but the key thing to avoid making a fashion faux pas is to make sure they come to, at least, half way down the thigh and don’t look like they have been sprayed onto the skin.
Yes, they might be a handy way to carry your money while on holiday but really guys, there’s nothing worse than seeing a fully grown man with a purse strapped round his waist in the shape of an ‘80s chic bum bag. This cheesy bag is an ugly way to carry money around and of course, they only come in hideous colours and even more dreadful designs.
Socks and sandals
This is a major no-no! It doesn’t matter if you are on holiday or it’s just a warm day outside, pairing socks with sandals is something you should stay well away from.
Saggy Trousers with Boxers
Dressing like you forgot to pull your trousers up when you last went to the toilet is not a good look, with high profile celebrities like US President Barack Obama even trying to tackle the unsightly issue by asking ‘brothers to pull up their pants’. If you want to make sure your fashion is up to date, shop online on a website like Dobell and make sure the next time you buy trousers, your partner won’t be ashamed to walk out the front door with you.
It doesn’t matter if you are Justin Bieber or PSY, no one can pull off harem pants. They look great on a genie who has just been rubbed out of a lamp but no other human being should be seen wearing these crotch-heavy, baggy trousers.
We could go on by delving into the likes of low cut V-neck shirts that should only be seen on the female frame, pinky rings, ‘comedy’ t-shirts, toe rings and guys who wear fedoras thinking they look cool when they clearly don’t. There are loads of great looks out there for men, so steer clear of the above and really rock it the next time you step out of the house.
