  1. Review of Strivectin anti-wrinkle Wrinkle Recode Serum

    Comment
Review by Ceri Wheeldon This is described on the packaging as a line transforming melting serum. I am always on the lookout for serums that can really make a difference . Although no serum can eradicate lines in the same way as Botox, for many of us we would like to soften the lines rather than eliminate them completely. As they say, wrinkles show us where our smiles have been! Personally I’m happy with the smiles I have as result of smiling – it’s the lines on my forehead where my frown have been that I’m not quite so keen on! What can I say? The Strivectin Wrinkle Recode formula is fabulous. As soon as you apply it to the skin it just appears to melt...

  3. Tips for looking after grey hair

    Comment
Article by Ceri Wheeldon with tips from Anabel Kingsley It’s a growing trend to stop colouring hair and letting the grey hair shine through. Social media is awash with images of celebrities and real women proudly showing their grey locks.   How attitudes have changed. I can remember my own mother handing me a pair of tweezers while she sat at her dressing table and instructing me to pluck out any grey hairs (she started to go grey in her mid to late 30s). This was done weekly. When the plucking became more severe and she realised that she was in danger of going bald – such was my enthusiasm to complete my task, she started to colour – only recently as...
  4. Overnight masks for the best beauty sleep

    Comment
Want the Best Beauty Sleep? Buy Natural Jade Roller for Face and Use an Overnight Mask The Korean skincare invasion is the gift that keeps on giving. After sheet masks and their multiple steps skincare routine, they give us overnight or sleeping masks. Sleeping masks or sleeping packs are meant to be worn overnight and then washed off when we wake up. They may have richer texture than regular face creams, but not necessarily in terms of moisture or active ingredients. They’re meant to be used on top of your regular skin care products to lock-in moisture and help our skin absorb all those antioxidants and anti-aging ingredients. How do they differ from clay and sheet masks? A clay...
  5. Imedeen Prime Renewal Review Part 2 : The Results

    Comment
Review by Ceri Wheeldon I posted at the start of taking Imedeen Prime Renewal supplements and promised an update at the end of 3 months. My skin is noticeably softer and plumper. I have noticed a significant difference in my neck and décolletage – great as I tend to sleep on my side and being quite big busted that area tends to become crepey with vertical lines – they are definitely softer and the whole area feels smoother. The other area I noticed a big difference in was my lower legs. Normally they feel really dry – despite applying body lotion daily, since taking the Imedeen supplements I started to see a difference after about 6 weeks. I was paid a terrific compliment when I met somebody for the first time...

  7. Time Bomb Mass Appeal Hair Thickening Supplement Review

    Comment
Article by Ceri Wheeldon Thinning hair can be a problem for many once we reach our 50s, but I have found that many of the hair thickening products on the market have a tendency to either dry the hair out,  or weight the hair down. I am a long time fan of the Time Bomb haircare range, particularly the shampoo,  and loved this new product in their range. My hair is fine, and very curly- add our fabulous heatwave this summer into the mix, and I was fully expecting to be wandering round looking like some mad aunt let loose from the attic. Thank goodness this product worked for me. The product’s official description: ‘Instantly adds thickness, body and volume. Mass Appeal Hair Thickening Supplement plumps up each hair strand, adding fullness and...
  8. Imedeen Prime Renewal review: Part 1

    Comment
Review by Ceri Wheeldon We are so used to buying lotions and potions to fight the signs of ageing, but applying products to nourish the surface of the skin, whilst important,  can only do so much . We shouldn’t ignore nourishing our skin from the inside out, supporting the deeper building blocks of our skin. In an ideal world, our daily diet would deliver all the nutrients our skin needs to support, and delay the signs of ageing. Due to an underlying health condition, I tend to follow a fairly healthy anti-inflammatory diet ( I eat a lot of salmon) but I recognise that this is no longer sufficient to really target the deeper layers of my skin. This is why I am trying Imedeen Prime Renewal. Its Marine...
  9. Sensitive skin – natural ways to help.

    Comment
By Gemma Hurditch for CNM (College of Naturopathic Medicine). Sensitive skin can come in a number of guises. Redness and irritation, hives or rashes, sensitivity to sun, or cold, or wind, skin itching and eruptions. Whatever the issue, there are a few key things to try which will support skin health and integrity. Ditch the products! Less is more when it comes to dealing with sensitive skin. Lots of otherwise wonderful ingredients such as fragrant essential oils, pore cleansing acids, and skin smoothing butters can all contribute to overload to sensitive skin. Keep skin care basic and once you have peeled back the number of products you use, introduce new products slowly and with caution. A good quality microfibre cloth and warm (never hot) water is...
  10. Natural ways to boost radiance for mature skin

    Comment
By Gemma Hurditch for CNM (College of Naturopathic Medicine). Hydration inside and out is very important for our skin. Aim for 2 litres of water per day – try caffeine-free, skin-loving herbal teas such as nettle, rooibos and rosehips. Red clover tea is also lovely for mature skin, it contains phytoestrogens so can be supportive of those going through menopause and beyond. Red clover tea needs to be steeped in hot water for about 30 minutes to extract full flavour, so use a teapot with a tea cosy and 2 teaspoons of the herb per cup for best results. If unwanted facial hair is a concern, spearmint and green tea can be a useful addition for supporting hormone balance. Reduce alcohol intake, particularly if redness or rosacea is...
