I was introduced to silk pillowcases nearly a decade ago, primarily for the benefits it brings to haircare, but it also offers significant benefits to mature skin.
A traditional pillowcase can create ‘drag’- both for hair and skin. If you sleep on your side, as you move during the night, friction is created as your face moves across the pillowcase surface, created sleep creases and over time, wrinkles. With a silk pillowcase, the smooth texture helps the skin to glide over the surface and also retain moisture and helps to reduce puffiness.
