Review by Ceri Wheeldon
I receive a lot of requests for home based anti-ageing skincare treatments. I’m looking to see how technology can improve skin tone for a more youthful appearance as an alternative to botox and fillers.
I have to confess to being a bit of a gadget junkie when it comes to skincare. The LightStim for Wrinkles is a handheld device that uses LED light therapy to energize cells and stimulate collagen production and improve elasticity of the skin. I’m a little wary of any light based gadgets but I find the fact that LightStim is FDA approved reassuring.
Over an 8 week period using LightStim for minutes a day you should see significant improvement to skin tone.
How LightStim for wrinkles works
This video explains how LightStim works , and is from the start of my 8 week trial.
Holding the device for 3 minutes against the area of the skin you are looking to treat, you can feel the warmth on the skin- although the lights are cool to the touch. It is incredibly relaxing. Over the 8 weeks I will be looking to concentrate on my crows feet and jowls – although the LightStim is supposed to be excellent for smokers lines too.
I will post an update at 4 weeks and 8 weeks and keep you posted as to any improvement in skin tone and reduction of wrinkles!
The LightStim device does a require an investment , but it could represent a significant saving over salon based treatments.
LightStim is available from Space NK
and costs £249 – although it is always checking for offers online!
If you have tried Light Therapy treatments I would love to know your thoughts on the results.

Would love to know how you get on as I have regular ( monthly) caci ultimate facials. Admittedly my skin does look and feel better but I’m always on the lookout for the next best thing. P.s love your site. I work in the fashion industry and as many of our clients are 50 plus the information I glean is invaluable. Keep up the good work. Xx

Thanks for the nice comments re the website Joy. I used to have CACI facials – until my local salon closed . I tend to try more home based treatments now – I find them easier to fit into my schedule 🙂
